Dear Brother Knights,
As if 2020 didn’t have enough twists and turns, the unexpected continues to unfold in our country throughout this roller coaster of a year. Last weekend was the annual Life Chain and many knights and their families participated. We really had a large number from our parish participate. At the Life Chain, there are always responses that you will receive from drivers, whether positive or negative. This year was no different and if anything, responses were very much amped up due to it being an election year. Many of those drivers who were supportive honked enthusiastically, with thumbs up and many had American flags displayed from their vehicles. Those who were negative were angry, obnoxious and some very obscene.
October is Pro-Life month. We live in a time more than ever that we can no longer stand on the sidelines. Each of us needs to act especially when it comes to defending the unborn. We have many ways in which all of us can actively defend those who can’t defend themselves.
40 Day of Life: Praying at the Lincoln abortion facility for an hour. St. Teresa’s parish assigned times are Thursdays from 11 am to 6 pm. There is a sign-up board in the back of the church.
Spiritual Adoption Program: Praying for an unborn child and their parents that may be contemplating abortion. All of the information to get started is in the back of church in a basket.
Incorporating in our daily prayers intentions for the protection of the unborn.
Fasting regularly is also a very powerful form of intercession to our Lord.
Praying and fasting for our upcoming elections, that we may elect those who will do the most to protect the most defenseless in our society.
Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.
Yours in Christ,
Father Hottovy
